Patient involvement and engagement
People affected by childhood cancer are essential to the work of the consortium. Your involvement and engagement will help guide our decision-making and ensure that we remain focused on the needs of patients, their families and loved ones.
How we aim to make a positive impact
C-Further is an international consortium advancing the discovery and development of new therapies specific to cancers affecting children and young people (0-24 years old). By bringing together experts in childhood cancers who have the skills, knowledge and abilities to advance drug discovery and development efforts, we are moving beyond the limitations of current treatments and the repurposing of adult drugs.
How we'll work with patients and families
Our patient advisory panel will be core to our strategy. Members will be people affected by a range of childhood cancers. The panel will provide insights and perspectives on the consortium strategy, prioritisation, policy and communications. They will also help to identify and plan further opportunities for patient involvement and engagement in specific projects.
Our commitment
We will work with people affected by children's and young people's cancers to guide, influence and shape the work of the consortium.
We will be proactive in seeking diverse perspectives.
We will ensure people are involved and engaged in a way that is accessible and inclusive.
We will define effective processes for patient engagement and work to establish best practices for involving people affected by childhood cancers in early therapeutic development.
We will share our learnings with the community.
We expect all members of the consortium to sign up to and honour our Shared Commitment to Public Involvement.
